SPS Team

Name: Matthew Glynn

Nick name: Matt/ Matty

Number of years riding downhill: I got on a bike when I was 3 and have been on one since. Raced BMX for 3 years and 2012 will be my first season racing downhill.

Highlights of your riding career so far: Winning my first race was good but being part of the SPS is my highlight for sure.

Aims for 2012 season: Have a solid season giving it 100% in training and racing. Enjoy it and give it my best.

What’s it like being part of SPS? I’m stoked to be a part of the SPS, its the closest thing to being a pro racer. A professional set up with support, training, guidance and equipment I have never had before-its a dream come true.

What are your first impressions of the Santa Cruz V10? I have only had a short time on one but it looks amazing, super light and just gives you loads of feedback as a rider.

Favorite rider/biggest influence and why? Anyone who knows me well could answer this, it’s got to be Steve Peat. He was the bloke who showed me that a guy from up north can become a world champion and make a career form racing bikes. I used to watch him on the ‘earthed’ films and decided ‘I want to do that’.

Best UK DH track and why? At the moment it would have to be Bringewood because it was the first real track I went to – I have good memories from that weekend.

Describe your riding style in three words: Ermmm….Aggressive, pedal’y and prepared.

Any last words: Just like to thank all the team for the opportunity, all the sponsors, family and friends for all there support and especially a big thank you to my girlfriend Joanne for the support and help over the years – it means the world.
